Stroll around in the streets of the charming town of Stein am Rhein before enjoying a boat ride to Europe’s biggest waterfalls, the Rhein falls. Laufen Castle towers high above the Rhein falls and In the morning you will be picked from your hotel in Zurich. First you’ll enjoy a scenic ride along the lake of Zurich, through the green hilly landscape of the unknown Area of Toggenburg to Appenzell – where you’ll feel the living traditions and Swiss culture.

Visit the farm. Help the farmer with the cows, grab the eggs from the chicken and make your own plush toy out of dry grass. One of the highlights of the farm visit is the pig race. Choose your preferred pig and cheer at the pig race. The other highlight is the farmer Tony and how he plays the Swiss traditional instrument “Alphorn”. Try yourself to play it.

In the afternoon you’ll visit the beautiful historical village of Stein am Rhein before heading to Europe’s biggest waterfall and the castle. First you’ll visit the castle of Laufen. From the castle you’ll have an impressive view over the Rheinfalls.

After a short walk you’ll reach the boat station. Enjoy a ride to the view point in the middle of the river and feel the power of water first hand. If you travel with children there is also a nice kid’s playground with a cozy restaurant to enjoy your time.
